Grain Brewery Hop Harvest Festival |

Discover the art of brewing in our brew house set in the Waveney Valley, try a range of ales, and understand the different ingredients used to create the varying styles of beer. The brewery will be open all week for you to drop in, pull up a straw bale and enjoy a pint or two of green hopped beer at the Hop Harvest Festival. Grain are a new and dynamic micro-brewery with a passion for beer but none of the heavy going real ale baggage. Grain's founders and brewers Phil and Geoff et up the brewery in 2006 driven by a passion for creating good beer they have swiftly developed a loyal following and a number of awards. Grain is located in the old dairy buildings of South Farm, in the Waveney Valley and sources all its main ingredients from the local area.

Emmett's of Peasenhall, a Rick Stein Food Hero! Suffolk hams and bacon made in a traditional manner. Mild cured, gently smoked or the sweet pickled, a great black Suffolk ham. The production of these all takes place on the premises behind our shop. All the pork we use for our hams and bacon comes from four local Suffolk farms. If passing why not step back in time and come in and see how it is all done!

Pinney's 50th Anniversary Seafood Supper |

It's 50 years since Richard Pinney resurrected the oyster beds at Butley Creek and created a smokehouse using a unique but traditional method using whole Suffolk oaks. The restaurant and shop, The Butley Orford Oysterage, in Orford’s pretty market square followed in the 1960s. Join us to celebrate the 50 year history of the business. Start the evening with a glass of wine and canapes and a talk about Pinney's history followed by our showcase seafood platter.
