The 2008 Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival took place in East Suffolk between 19th and 28th September 2008.
 |
There was tremendous publicity on BBC Radio Suffolk, through the East Anglian Daily Times and Suffolk Magazine and in the national press. Rose Prince, writing in the Saturday Telegraph described the Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival as ‘the most significant food festival in Britain’ and listed it as one of her top five Food Festivals in Britain.
We turn to local people and businesses for help in making our ideas a reality. Their response is always immensely positive and it is through their help that we were able to make the Festival such an enjoyable and rewarding event. |
The 2007 Festival aimed to build on the previous year’s success by extending the Festival from a two-day event to a 10-day food and drink safari which would involve people and places throughout the area. They all responded enthusiastically, as did the environmental organisations including Natural England and Suffolk Coasts & Heaths, enabling us to make the Festival such a unique event.
In 2009 there will be more celebrity chefs visiting the area over the weekend and giving up their valuable time to demonstrate on stage as well as finding time to discover our local produce and to return to London extolling the virtues of this region for fine food.
Over the weekend our marquees will be filled with an extraordinary selection of fresh fish and succulent meats, delicious dairy products, amazing breads, cakes and pies, hearty vegetables, freshly-made fruit juices, jams and chutneys, quality beers and wines. |
|
The Festival is our showcase. We hope that you visit in us in 2009 as we believe it will lead you on a voyage of discovery.
