Thuy Pham was born in ‘Hanh My’, a small village in south Vietnam, her early childhood was surrounded by food. As the grandchild of farmers, she grew up amidst a happy tumult of livestock & produce, with a wonderful variety of fruits hanging from trees, morning markets & the amazing smells of traditional street food. Thuy & her family moved to the UK when she was just seven years old, seeking new opportunities at the close of the war. Whilst she calls England home, Thuy had always explored & maintained her connection to Vietnamese culture through its vibrant cuisine. Learning her craft through studying traditional recipes & techniques, passed down to her by her mother & other family members, she believes learning in her mother’s kitchen was the best training possible. Thuy started out on her own by launching supper clubs in her own living room. In April 2015, her life long culinary dream came true when she launched The Little Viet Kitchen, a restaurant tucked away in the trendy Chapel Market of London’s Islington. Thuy takes the best of her Vietnam roots & combines it with her London inspirations to create her dishes.
